Halo Dravecky Obituary (2016

Halo came into our family from Trio Animal Foundation. Jamie and Dave had followed her story and could tell by her photos how big her personality is. From the moment we walked in to meet her for the first time it was instant love. The little nubby butt wiggle sealed the deal. Halo had a large, goofy, loving personality. She always knew who needed her most. Unless you had cheese, then you were her favorite. She disliked people food, except cheese. Halo always found a way to make you laugh. From her rubs up against the fence and house to playing like a big goofball. Halo’s nickname was baby elephant when we first got her. She would always want to sit on your lap not realizing how big she was. This continued all the way until her last day. Plus, her awkward running and falling down made her look like a baby elephant playing. Halo loved going to breweries. She would lay in the middle of the walkways so people would have to acknowledge her as they walked by. Often we’d hear, we didn’t even know you had a dog here! She loved her weekends hiking with dad and spending time with us at the camper. She knew those weekends we weren’t doing anything without her. Halo taught us a lot about strength and finding joy in bad times. She got us through a lot of tough times. She loved her stuffed animals and her brother Seabrook so much. She never went anywhere without her babies. Halo lived a life bigger than some people. She traveled everywhere, tons of state parks, trips to Lake Michigan, breweries and anywhere where dogs were allowed-sometimes even places they weren’t allowed. She never met a stranger and always made you feel like you were her favorite person. She knew every time we were at Starbucks she was getting a pup cup. Halo was a big dog with an even bigger personality. She lived and love big. Halo really was the best girl anyone could ask for. She was sensitive and loving beyond words. We will miss her more than we could ever convey.
