Jax (Jaxxon) was laid to rest tonight in the cemetery located at Life after Fetch. Jax was not simply a dog, but a true friend, a funny and loyal companion, an adventurer, and a beacon of love and joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His sweet spirit was imbued with a loving nature that endeared him to everyone he met. Jax passed away on December 28, 2025, leaving a void in our hearts that will be difficult to fill. Jax was born on May 30, 2010 on Montezuma, Iowa, and he spent his life with us in Illinois. He was more than just a pet to us. He was a cherished part of our family, giving us countless moments of laughter, warmth, and pure, unconditional love. His adventurous spirit was contagious, and his funny antics were a constant source of joy. Jax had an innate ability to lighten up any situation, and his presence would spark an infectious happiness that was impossible to ignore. Among his many roles, Jax was a devoted PTSD support dog to myself, Julia. Over fifteen years, Jax walked through every chapter of life with us, Julia and Jim, providing protection, reassurance, and a love that never wavered. His bond was profound, his heart gentle, and his impact immeasurable. As Anatole France beautifully put it, "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." Jax awakened that part of our souls and filled it with an abundance of love and joy. Jax now reunites with Shelby in a place of tranquility and endless play. Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we find solace in the knowledge that he is now free, whole, and once again, running without any pain. He is survived by his little sister, Abby, and will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
