JERSEY JAGLA Obituary (2019)

Jersey came to us in 2008, while Lenny was serving in Iraq. We were a dog free family and lonely. After a brief trip to look at older pit bulls and deciding against it, we drove to Kay’s Animal Shelter. There she was, sitting peacefully alone in a cage. We knew we had to have her. There was a family ahead of us that also wanted her. Luckily for us they lived in Wisconsin and Kay’s didn’t allow out of state adoptions. Jersey was meant to be with us, we took her home. She was a good puppy from the start and through her 12 years with us a remarkable companion. Even when we adopted another pup, she put up with her. Jersey and Sookie became great pals. Words that describe Jersey: friendly, fun, gorgeous, loyal and smart. Jersey loved the sunlight and loved to lay in the sun for warmth. One of her favorite things was to sit outside the garage as Len worked. She was our protector. She lived a good life with us and loves all of our family. Whenever Jimmy, Caroline, Lenny, Melanie, or Auntie Ann walks in she just got so excited. Jersey was camera shy and always looked away from the camera, so it was always hard to get her to look at the camera. I must have surprised when I took this picture. We loved her so much, Len and I will miss her tremendously. Sookie will be lonely and so will we. Jersey, you will forever be in our hearts.
