KARAYAN HOWELL Obituary (2020)

My beautiful Karayan (car-RAY-yawn) the Keeshond (kays-HAWND). So unique, just like her name. Karayan was an expensive “rescue”, coming from not the best breeders but she was taken care of. Her parents and sister were left with the breeders and I wished I was able to take them as well. Karayan only knew that she had a new family that adored her and her loyalty was infinite. Born with the name “Kesha”, she was very easy to train and incredibly obedient. She didn't like to be dirty and licked her paws like a cat. I would often times call her “KittenCat”. She had a slew of nicknames, which she knew very well but knew her full name and her shortened name, “Kari”. My little girl was strong and went through a great deal with us; having to move a lot in her middle years, at one point being homeless with me and was still resilient. All she ever wanted to do is make sure we were always okay. Such a nurturer, she was. Even if you coughed, she had to get up and make sure you were okay. She was there when you were ill and there to greet you when you came back home. She also was little model; always posing for the camera. People would always stop to ask about her (and stare) and she was so sweet, ready to greet a stranger but was very aware of who seemed to be threatening. She was our little protector but the most sweetest dog you can ask for. Karayan passed away, fighting, not wanting to give up but her health and pain was getting worse and it wouldn't have gotten better. She had Hemangiosarcoma and fought to be herself as much as she could but the cancer was winning. My baby loved and she was loved by her family. She was my daughter and she was an amazing daughter at that. Karayan, you can rest now. We will be fine. We adore you and always will.
